Experience, Strength and Hope
My name is Katie Perez and I have worked as a therapist for over a decade. After graduating from Pepperdine University with a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, I began working with clients immediately.
I consider it a privilege to get to know people from all walks of life and become a part of their lives through the therapeutic process.
The following is a list of some, but not all, of the populations I have been lucky enough to work with:
- Dually-diagnosed Veterans at an inpatient facility
- Adults with depression, anxiety, or change of life issues
- Adults and Children living with the effects of trauma, substance abuse issues, and eating disorders
- Middle school aged children in a school setting
- Children from ages 2-15 with developmental disabilities
I was trained to take an integrative, holistic approach to therapy. This means that I get to know "the whole person" when we meet, and go from there. It also means that I make treatment plans based on what each client wants for themselves, and what is best suited for that client per the field's ethical standards of "best practices."
In session I strive to be authentic, to be kind, empathic, honest, and present. I believe that all people can grow limitlessly, in any direction. Therapy is a process that can enable us to find that direction and take the first steps.
